South sneaks home by two

SOUTH Services snatched a remarkable two-wicket win against a much-improved Coutts Crossing at Ulmarra.

Chasing 181 for victory, South passed Coutts’ total with only two overs to spare in a thrilling climax.

With his side delicately placed at 5-110, Coutts’ skipper Tim Tilse led with a defiant 44.

He was well supported by Luke Cox (22) and Nick Wood (23).

South captain Tom Kroehnert claimed 3-45 while Jason Thompson chimed in with 2-19.

In reply South were at one stage languishing at 6-102 before the lower-order revival of Kroehnert (32) and Brandon Honeybrook (31) edged them home.

Brendan Williams remained 20 not out while for Coutts Joel Gossen snared 5-51 from his 10 overs.
