Yamba Hotspurs get the Bailey special

"On a scale of one to 10, playing soccer rates 11," mum Patricia Verran said.

For the past four seasons the determined eight-year-old has been a regular in the team, alongside his identical twin brother Cooper. Bailey hasn't let the fact he has cerebral palsy slow him down. He is also a member of Yamba Jiu Jitsu.

"Cooper has a heart condition but he can run around by himself," Patricia said. "Bailey doesn't see himself any different. He just wants to be doing everything his peers do.

"I'm just grateful that we live in such a great community where people are very accepting and inclusive. He has been part of the Yamba Soccer Club since under-6s because the club, coaches, parents, kids and the community have allowed him to be in it all.

"The majority of the kids in under-9s, not only from Yamba, but also Maclean and Iluka, have grown up with Bailey playing and have always been accepting."
