HERE'S a tip for local sporting clubs - there's no time like the present if you want to give your sport some extra publicity.
While the summer is dominated by cricket and winters by the football codes and hockey, we have now entered the annual quiet period between the two.
From now until the October long weekend comes a few weeks when the footy boots have been cleaned and packed away, and the cricket whites are washed ahead of the new season.
While the focus of many switches to the national football finals, locally it is a great time for some of our other sports to win some attention.
The sports section is always a popular part of The Daily Examiner and we're inviting the sports that don't normally get a big run to grab their chance in the spotlight.
