GRAFTON'S star hockey players Brent Livermore, Peter Kelly and Robbie Green will be cheering after the International Hockey Federation announced the dates for a second World Series season.
The world's biggest hockey league will be played from Saturday, December 15, to Sunday January 20.
The inaugural season of World Series Hockey was a resounding success, with the championship being watched in more than 30 countries on television and more than 65 countries on YouTube.
The unique television tune-ins in India were more than 32 million, triple that of the English Premier League in the same period.
The five-week inaugural tournament created unprecedented buzz in terms of daily prime time action on television and record fan walk-ins in the stadiums in India.
Billed as Hockey's answer to Twenty20 cricket, an aggressive marketing campaign and extensive media coverage resulted in extremely high awareness and consumption of World Series Hockey.
"We are delighted to announce the dates of World Series Hockey season two.
Season one was a resounding success for all the stakeholders - players, commercial partners, franchise owners and above all the hockey fans," organiser Yannick Colaco said yesterday.
