Steven Spielberg making live-action Halo TV series

STEVEN Spielberg has signed on to produce a live-action TV series of the best-selling video game Halo.

Microsoft revealed its plans for a Halo series at the global launch of the new Xbox One console, which is set to replace the XBox 360 in spring.

The series produced by Spielberg and 343 Studios will be exclusively available for XBox Live.

Spielberg hailed the opportunity to fuse gaming and TV in a pre-recorded video shown at the launch, E! Online reported.

"The Halo universe is an amazing opportunity to be at that intersection where technology and myth-making meet to produce something truly groundbreaking," he said.
