A Saffin Christmas

AS the Federal Member for Page, Janelle Saffin’s life has been hectic – to say the least – this year.

But that’s all about to change on Friday when Janelle puts her feet up for a well-earned break and enjoys Christmas Day with her family.

“I’m going to slow down and enjoy time with family and friends and just hang around,” she said.

The Member for Page has revealed a Christmas secret.

To get into the Christmas spirit, Janelle eats a fruit mince pie every night. Janelle said she doesn’t eat them at any other time, but around Christmas she can’t resist the daily treat.

Janelle is also looking forward to eating cherries, mangoes and the roast she’ll help her husband, Jim, cook on the big day.

In the lead up to Christmas, Janelle said she’s been moved by the kindness and generosity of the people of Page at this time of the year.

“In my job I see so much kindness but at Christmas time I see it 100-fold,” she said.

“People are adopting families and putting together Christmas hampers for people and sending things off to farmers.

“I’d like to thank everyone for just being so generous and considerate to each other.”
