Streatfield and Irwin are run home winners at dog track

GARRY Streatfield and Dave Irwin took the training honours at the Grafton Greyhound race meeting on Friday afternoon with each trainer leading in a winning double.

Glenreagh-based trainer Streatfield continues to ride the wave of success from his smart Magic Sprite x Avon Lee litter and Magic Diore from that litter could not have been any more impressive than she was when destroying her opposition by 11 lengths in the Outa Credit @ Stud Stakes over 480 metres.

Beginning nicely from box 4, Magic Diore put a gap in her opposition with every stride to the delight of favourite punters and she was simply too classy for Conroy's Boy and Voodoo Power in 27.63 seconds.

Montkeila Bend was the kennel's other winner when he benefited from a scrimmage in the PFD Foodservices in defeating Dustorm Dan and Mammy Brown in 23.55 seconds.

Irwin led in Scissor Queen to yet another victory in the Phil McLennan Earthmoving FFA with the win giving her 11 in a row and now more than a year in racing without being defeated.

Captain Cloud and Tranquil Zac were both gallant in defeat and connections would be more than happy with their efforts.

The second winner for the Irwin kennel was the lucky reserve Stop Scrammin' which secured a run from box 1 in the Grafton Radio Taxi's 0-1 Win Stake.

Sonia Kempshall looks to have a handy greyhound in her kennel with Soaring Eagle recording a smart all-the-way win in the Singleton Rugby League Old Boys Maiden.

Despite being over 2 1/2 years old, Soaring Eagle has had just the one start which resulted in an unplaced effort at Dapto back in September.
