Suncorp appoints agribusiness boss

GREG Leahy has been appointed Suncorp Bank's executive manager of agribusiness, reaffirming the bank's commitment to its agribusiness portfolio.

Suncorp Bank CEO David Foster said the appointment to the role was good news for the bank's agribusiness customers and clients nationally, and sent a clear message Suncorp was a serious agribusiness player.

"Greg has almost 20 years experience in financial services, most of this gained with Suncorp Bank, having held a number of senior positions specialising in Agribusiness since joining in 1997," Mr Foster said.

"Greg has played an integral role in establishing Suncorp Bank's prominence as a leading Agribusiness bank, particularly in Queensland, and has a strong knowledge of the beef, grain, cotton and sugar industries in particular," he said.

Mr Leahy said rural producers were the backbone of this country.

Mr Leahy begins his new role on October 24 and can be contacted on 0407768823 or via email at greg.leahy@suncorp.com.au
