Supa Oldies ready to kick off

THE Supa Oldie Soccer competition organisers want  team nominations for the 2012-13 season. Interested players better get in quick after last year's tally of 26 teams almost reached the Rushforth Park capacity of 28.

"We can have up to 28 teams playing in the competition and the majority of last year's entrants are going around again," organiser David Anderson said.

To register for the mixed football competition teams must have a minimum of 10 players; at least three must be female and three must be male. Males must be at least 30 years of age and women a minimum of 18-years old.

"The competition is very social with a good mix of players who have never played, those who have not played for 20 years or just those who do not know how to give up their addiction," Anderson said.

"Even though we keep scores it is not really a competition as such and we usually draw the winners out of a hat at the end of the season."

The season will kick off on Thursday, October 11. Games will be played at the Rushforth Oval complex with game times of 6, 7 or 8pm.

"If you would like to play in the upcoming summer competition, team nominations must be made in person at this month's monthly meeting which will be held at 7pm at the South Grafton Services Club on Tuesday, September 11," Anderson said.

For more information or for team nomination forms go to graftonsos.org.au or phone Michael Woodward on 0401 397 292.
