Hair is the key to great sex appeal according to survey

LADIES, forget showing a bit of leg or flashing a bit of cleavage. And blokes, don't worry about sucking in that gut or dropping the voice an octave.

If you want to look sexy, look up.

A survey by hair care brand Pantene has found that 91% of Australians rate hair a key element to a person's sex appeal.

And the news did not surprise Sunshine Coast hairdressers.

Ann Cornock, of Annabelle's at Mudjimba, said great hair made people feel better about themselves and therefore more attractive to others.

"I always believe that a woman with good hair has higher confidence, and when she has higher confidence, people find her more attractive because she comes out of her shell," Mrs Cornock said.

Yvette McKenna, owner of Hair on Maple at Maleny, said healthy, shiny hair "definitely gives people sex appeal".

Ms McKenna said long hair with soft curls was typically regarded as sexy in women.

She cited the luscious locks of Jennifer Lopez, Delta Goodrem and Taylor Swift, and the classic cut of David Beckham as an example of sexy hair.

But she said sex appeal was literally about top to toe.

"Hair and shoes. You can wear any old outfit as long as you have great hair and shoes," Ms McKenna said.

Do you think hair is the key to great sex appeal?
