Suspensions will destroy Shield bid

A DECIMATED Grafton High Senior Open's Boys side will line up in the state-wide University Shield semi-final at the High School Oval today.

Several of coach Aaron Hartmann's key players have been suspended by the school and allegedly banned from school sport for 12 months.

Ironically, after a scandal befitting the bad-boys of the NRL competition, the banned players may miss their chance to ever play at a higher representative level.

Grafton High advanced to the final four of the prestigious state knockout after defeating Balgowlah Senior Campus 34-14 last week in Sydney.

And they did it without two of their best forwards.

But with several other key players missing from the line-up today, Dubbo Senior College will be lining up against a very different side than that which won last week.

The match kicks off at 10am, and anyone who thought the under 14 South Grafton High side faced a David and Goliath battle yesterday, must surely rate the clash against a full strength Dubbo outfit as mission impossible.

The winner of the match will advance to the University Shield final in Sydney next Tuesday.
