Swim stars set to soar

WITH the regional carnivals out of the way the Grafton Swim Academy can now focus on the annual NSW State Championships.

Twenty-one swimmers from the academy will represent the North Coast at the state titles, which will be held later this month.

The large numbers are a result of the hard work put in by the academy’s coaches.

Gay Cooper, Lesley Crouch, Jenny Harley, Liz Wilkes, Jo Clare and Al Paterson have all played a large part in the development of the sqaud members.

Academy coordinator Jo Clare says the swimmers are lucky to be given access to the high-quality coaches.

“We are very lucky at the academy to have specialist coaches with great experience to help these children achieve such success,” she said.

The full squad is: Josh Cumberland, Taylor Wilkes, Ben Piper, Kiah Bennett, Chloe Thurtel, Jake Pitkin, Ryland O’Connell, Jacob Hegedus, Tiarne Bennett, Cormac Grant, Jai Brown, Sophie Watson, Lewis Cooper, Ellie Lucas, Denby Dove, Natasha Rudder, Max Rose, Hayden Thurtel, Charlie Bindon, Fallon Doy and Tiffany Thorley.
