Swing into the cure effort

CLARENCE Valley golfers have two chances to contribute to the search for a cure for one of the most insidious diseases on the planet.

For the third year, Grafton couple Reg and Kay McLennan are holding fundraising golf days to raise money for research into finding a cure for muscular dystrophy.

Today at Grafton District Golf Club is ladies day and players can contribute to the fundraising.

Sunday is the big day with an auction and raffle after golf - a mixed four-ball medley.

Reg and Kay began the fundraisers when their grandson, Joseph Sciulli, was diagnosed with a mild form of the disease.

"It's a terrible disease, with Joseph it means the muscles in his arms and legs won't ever develop properly," Reg said.

People who want to play today or on Sunday should contact 6642 5413.
