Waratahs coach still looking for improvement

DESPITE comfortably winning the minor premiership, the Waratahs admit there is plenty of work to do if they want to break their title drought.

New South Wales coach Michael Cheika was disappointed with his team's lineout execution in its 34-3 win over the Reds at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.

The Waratahs will have this weekend off before hosting a semi-final at Allianz Stadium on July 26. The winner of that match will go straight into the grand final on August 2.

The Crusaders booked their place in the semi-finals with a 34-8 bonus-point victory over the Highlanders which saw them climb to second spot overall and also earn a week off.

This weekend will see the Brumbies (fourth) host the Chiefs (fifth), and the Sharks (third) play at home against the Highlanders (sixth).

The winners will earn the right to play grand-final qualifiers away to the Waratahs and Crusaders.
