'The Barn' to host five-course fine-dining experience
THREE noted Australian chefs will join forces to bring the Valley's best produce to life at the Gallery Foundation 2016 Gate to Plate event on October 8.
Chefs Clayton Donovan (ABC TV Wild Kitchen), Mark LaBrooy (The Farm Byron Bay/Three Blue Ducks Sydney) and Brett Cameron (executive chef Harvest Cafe) have been tasked with creating a five-course fine- dining experience using only the best possible produce sourced from the Clarence Valley and/or the 100-mile food footprint.
No one is more excited than foundation chairman and beef cattle producer Rod Watters.
"We love the idea of hosting our annual fundraiser Gate to Plate (G2P) at The Barn at the Grafton Showground this year and seeing it transformed for a unique dining experience which will feature nationally and internationally acclaimed chefs using our valley's fabulous produce," Mr Watters said.
"In its 10th year, Gate to Plate has always trumpeted our local produce and manufactured food products and is a great fundraiser for the Gallery Foundation," he said.
"The three chefs are not strangers when it comes to working together and they are highly sought-after in their own right and come to the event with a great freshness of ideas."
Funds raised by the foundation support the development of the regional gallery's infrastructure and collection.
