Teen boy drowns in NSW lake

THE body of a school boy has been found in the NSW lake where his boat flipped on the weekend.

Dylan Spicer, 13, and his 16-year-old friend were enjoying a day out on Lake Liddle in the Hunter Valley when they were thrown off their dingy on Saturday.

The older boy managed to swim to safety and raised the alarm but Dylan was reported missing.

His body was discovered by a police diver about 9.30 am today.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

The boating tragedy is the third in as many weeks.

A woman and child drowned last week during an ill-fated river adventure near Tamworth.

The week before, the bodies of three fishermen were found at St George's basin.
