Tenders open for highway bridge construction

FEDERAL Member for Page Kevin Hogan said tenders are now open for the construction of two bridges at Tabbimoble Creek as part of the $5.6 billion upgrade of the Woolgoolga to Ballina section of the Pacific Highway.

"The bridges are being built in the early stages of the upgrade to minimise the number of traffic switches that will be required, reducing the impact on motorists," he said.

"This is good news for motorists, and great news for local businesses and job seekers, with one bridge being built at Tabbimoble Creek and another at the Creek overflow."

Mr Hogan said there are many opportunities for local businesses to be involved in the highway upgrade.

Prequalified businesses can register interest in building the bridges by visiting the Roads and Maritime website https:// tenders.nsw.gov.au.

Business that are not pre-registered can go to www.rms.nsw.gov.au to find out more.

The Woolgoolga to Ballina section of the Pacific Highway upgrade is jointly funded by the Australian and New South Wales governments on an 80:20 basis.
