Coast bachelorette destined for romance?

SHE may not have featured prominently in last night's premiere of The Bachelor, but Coolum fashion designer Lisa Hyde looks destined for romance.

The 27-year-old survived her first "rose ceremony" on the reality dating show after meeting bachelor Blake Garvey.

While the more outrageous characters among the 24 "bachelorettes" got the most screen time, Hyde clearly made a good first impression on 31-year-old Garvey, a real estate auctioneer from Perth.

"I was very anxious," Hyde told the Daily.

"I was making friends with the girls and I only had a little bit of time with Blake. At that stage you don't realise how much time you should have with the bachelor and you think, 'maybe I will go home, maybe I haven't made that lasting impression'."

However, some fleeting footage at the beginning of last night's episode hinted at quite a strong connection between the two.

It showed the two kissing and Hyde telling Garvey, "I can definitely see myself falling in love with you."

Hyde has put her Brisbane-based fashion label, Shevoke, on hold to appear on the show.

"I focused a lot of my 20s on my business and working hard," she said.

"But at some point you've got to open your heart and let someone enjoy things with you."

The show continues on Channel 10 at 7.30 tonight.
