Cr Williamson will stand again for mayor

THE incumbent mayor has led the Clarence Valley Council in all but three years since coming to council in 2005.

After eight years in the top job, Cr Williamson would still say he has unfinished business to wrap up on the council and will stand again.

In recent years he has been integrally involved in the financial restructuring of the council, which received a poor mark from the Independent Inquiry into Local Government.

He believes he has lead role in ensuring the council achieves its Fit for the Future benchmarks and secures its financial position for the long term.
