1994 parking fine back to rile Bob

MARYBOROUGH man Bob Riseley thought his days of protesting against the justice system were over.

But his outrage flared up again earlier this week, when he received a parking fine from 1994 - one that he incurred while he was protesting outside a courthouse against flaws in the justice system.

The 70-year-old Mr Riseley said he was never issued with the original parking fine in 1994 and he does not intend to pay it.

"I never received this fine so I'm not going to pay it, I'm going to fight it," Mr Riseley said.

The alleged offence occurred on May 27, 1994 at the Townsville Magistrates Court where Mr Riseley was protesting against a previous parking ticket.

The fine has been issued for $151.30 and is due on October 11.
