These Valley plumbers are the Wright men for the job
MITCH Wright has faucets and fixtures, pipes and plugs plumbed into his blood stream.
A third generation plumber, Mitch has been working with his father Terry and grandfather John at John Wright Plumbers and Suppliers for over eight years.
The family business has been run by John Wright since 1967 and has developed a deeply piped connection with the Clarence Valley community over the past three generations.
Mitch said plumbing was part of his blood and despite spending five years learning his trade as a diesel mechanic, he was sucked back into the waterworks industry.
"I sort of was always plumbing since I was a young tacker with my dad," Mitch said. "When I grew up I spent five years out of the family business doing a diesel mechanic apprenticeship and working at a shop but I just could not stay away.
"I have always enjoyed plumbing. The amount of new people you get to meet each day, and working outdoors is fantastic. Every day holds something different for us."
Despite working with his father and grandfather every day, Mitch said there was rarely a time it caused any problems.
"It is not too bad working with these blokes," he said. "We do a pretty good job at keeping out of each other's way most of the time."
The men at John Wright's Plumbers and Suppliers were recently voted as the best plumbers in the Clarence Valley by Daily Examiner readers on a DEX Facebook poll, receiving 56 votes.
Mitch Wright was taken aback when he first found out about claiming top spot in the poll, but was unsurprised with the regular support the business receives from their customers.
"It is a credit to the business really," he said. "It makes you feel worthwhile going to work every day. We have a massive customer base, and I am fairly sure we can chalk that up to word of mouth."
