REIGNING premiers Grafton Tigers will take on 2011 grand final rivals Port Macquarie for a spot in this year's AFL North Coast decider.

The Tigers finished third after the regular season and ran out comfortable 114-point winners over North Coffs last week.

They will now take on Port Macquarie in the preliminary final after the Magpies lost to Sawtell/Toormina at the weekend.

The Saints sealed their place in the grand final with a nail-biting win at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on Saturday.

Ahead by 20 points at the final break, the Saints shut up shop in the final term as Port closed to within four points before time ran out.

While Port finished the better on Saturday, Grafton will likely start favourites when they face off this weekend.

If Grafton does advance to the final they will also fancy their chances against the Saints who faded badly on Saturday.

Grafton is chasing its third consecutive premiership.
