Editorial - Tuesday, September 10: Time to reboot highway

I WISH to add my voice to the chorus of gratitude for our outgoing member for Page Janelle Saffin.

Ms Saffin has an insatiable work ethic. She fought hard for the whole electorate and really did kick some goals. I don't think we could have asked for much more in a local member and we thank her for her service.

It's been said a million times but Ms Saffin was a victim of Australia's frustration with her party. We wish her well in the future with her endeavours.

She leaves some pretty big shoes for the new Member for Page, Kevin Hogan, to fill.

We congratulate Mr Hogan on his new position and look forward to working with him for the betterment of our region into the future. We should warn him, though, we'll be on his back about the Pacific Hwy.

Mr Hogan has told me in the past he's used The Daily Examiner's campaign to push the point down in Canberra, and we hope that as we continue to bang the drum on the issue we can together achieve the results we need.
