Top apprentice searching for Dream Finnish

RACING: Boom Queensland apprentice Jimmy Orman will be in high demand with Toowoomba trainers when the Queensland racing spotlight falls on Clifford Park this Saturday.

Orman has taken several early rides for local stables on Saturday's eight-race metropolitan race card headed by the $175,000 Listed Weetwood Handicap (1200m).

The Brisbane premiership leader's early rides include Emtevee Queen for trainer Kevin Kemp in the $135,000 Listed Moores Trailers QTIS Dalrello Stakes (1000m) and Toowoomba Guineas entry Dream Finnish.

Dream Finnish is one of two runners for Toowomba trainer Michael Nolan aimed at the $110,000 Guineas over 1625 metres.

Nolan won last year's inaugural Toowoomba Guineas with Jumbo Prince who will return to racing on Saturday in a first-up tilt at the Weetwood.

Michael Cahill has taken the Weetwood ride on Jumbo Prince.

"Jumbo Prince has come along well and we're happy to have Michael aboard" Nolan said.

"We're looking forward to have a few runners on the day.

"Dream Finnish and Big Dollars will be our Guineas runners.

"Jimmy Orman will ride Dream Finnish and Jeff Lloyd will be on Big Dollars.

"Jeff Lloyd is also riding Upstart Pride for us in the Class 6 Plate."

Big Dollars, Dream Finnish and Emtevee Queen are expected to be amongst Saturday's runners working on the course proper during tomorrow's Clifford Park Breakfast With The Stars.

The morning activities begin at 6 o'clock and include a free breakfast for patrons.

The Weetwood Colour Horse School Competition winners will be announced at 8am.

Saturday's fields will be announced on Wednesday morning prior to a public barrier draw at Clifford Park.
