Trainee refs going green

IT’S exciting times for Grafton Basketball with a new referees’ program in place.

Trainee whistle-blowers will wear green shirts at the Grafton Indoor Sports Centre in preparation for the upcoming season.

The program involves trainee referees wearing green shirts with the catch phrase of: See Green, Not Red – as these training referees will not get everything right, but with patience and training they will not only be an asset to basketball, but also to the Grafton community.

The program is getting local support and a NSW Basketball co-ordinator will also hold a two hour beginner’s course in the near future, and then progress to level one status and maybe even higher levels.

Anyone interested should contact Pat Hagan on 6643 1188.
