Cassar-Daley all set for entertaining show and tell

THE hometown fans of Troy Cassar Daley will be out in force on Sunday to see their favourite country music son perform his intimate Things I Carry Around concert.

There are only a few tickets remaining for Sunday's performance at the Yamba Golf Club performance where the recently announced Tamworth Country Music Festival's Roll of Renown recipient will tell his story through conversation and song.

Besides the entertaining format he has planned, the Golden Guitar winner will also be bringing his recent accolades along to show and share with his Clarence audience.

"They gave me a framed copy of the Roll of Renown plaque that's on the rock in Tamworth so I'll be bringing that and my Golden Guitar (for Album of the Year) and put it on the merch table," Troy said.

"I want to share the experience with people so they can see it and have a hold. It helps when people can feel the weight and substance of these things. They understand why we get so overwhelmed when we are presented with them. Hopefully it won't cause any excess baggage problems."

The other baggage Troy will have in tow, albeit by road, will be the couch he bought online specifically for these intimate shows.

"It's a nice old-looking lounge, one of those ones you can sit on the arm of," he said.

"We are going to set up a little lounge room on stage, it will be like sitting in there with us, me and two other players (keys and bass). It's a great way to share music and tell stories.

"We have done shows from a couch before. We buy it from Vinnies when we arrive and donate it back when we leave."
