Truck collides with trees near Glenreagh

THE wreckage of a semi-trailer has been salvaged following a single vehicle accident on the Orara Way this morning.

The Orara Way was closed then opened at reduced speeds this morning following the crash near a bridge, north of Glenreagh.

Reports say the driver lost control as he headed northbound just after 6am. The rig and its trailer ran off the road and collided with trees, and the load, several containers, broke free from their mounting pins and rolled into nearby bushland.

No other vehicles were involved and the driver and his passenger were taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus with undisclosed injuries as well as mandatory blood and urine testing for the driver.

The salvage took place through the morning and the road was opened to the public at around 12.30pm.
