Trump's pick fuels Russia fears

US PRESIDENT-elect Donald Trump has praised the career of his secretary of state nominee as "the embodiment of the American dream”. ExxonMobil chief Rex Tillerson, 64, has spent his entire career at Exxon and holds about $310million of the company's stock. High-ranking Republican senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio all criticised the nomination, pointing to Mr Tillerson's ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2013, Mr Tillerson received the Order of Friend- ship award (pictured) - a rare honour bestowed by Russia on foreigners.
