Lightning strikes the ground at Tucabia during Monday's storm.

TUCABIA man Keith Connor was filming Monday's storms on his property when one bolt struck only half a kilometre away from his house.

Mr Connor pulled a still out of his footage.

"I was in the right spot," he said.

"You can see me shake the camera when the bolt hit. It was pretty loud.

"The sky was real green in places, I thought we were going to get hail."

He took the footage at 3.37pm.

Mr Connor understands the power of lighting.

Ten years ago a lighting bolt hit his barbed-wire fence.

The bolt melted the wire 30m along the fence.
