Twins roll into school of rock

TWO Yamba musicians are sewing the seeds for a new generation of Lower Clarence rock stars with the establishment of LittleFish School of Rock - set to launch on October 29.

Twins Jackie and Brett Kempnich say their lessons will cover traditional subjects including music theory and techniques, but with song choice led by the students.

A combination of in-school lessons, group lessons and one-on-one tuition will be on offer combined with holiday workshops, jam events and eventually full concerts.

Clearly taking a leaf from the movie made famous by Jack Black, Jackie said the focus of the school would be enjoyment combined with professionalism.

The Kempnich twins competed as a duo in X-Factor 2012 in March and made it through to the final 16.

Get tomorrow's Daily Examiner for Jackie's revealing interview on the experience, which she said was more drama contest than singing contest.
