Highway pile-up causes chaos

FOUR people in two cars travelling north on the Pacific Hwy were involved in a two-car collision in front of the Harwood Roadhouse on Sunday night.

A Nissan Pulsar and commodore station wagon collided around 10pm about a kilometre north of the Harwood Bridge.

Emergency services at the scene said it was understood the female driver of the Nissan pulled over to the left hand side of the road and attempted to do a U-turn into oncoming traffic.

At the scene, emergency services said everyone was taken to hospital with injuries.

Five rescue services turned up to the accident scene.
