Two men involved in shooting arrested

BREAKING: Two men have been accused of staging a shooting at a Coffs Harbour shopping centre in an attempt to make a dodgy compensation claim.

Police will allege a 21-year-old man shot another man in the shoulder outside Park Beach Plaza on June 15 last year so the "victim" could make a fraudulent workers compensation claim.

The alleged shooter was arrested in Armidale on Tuesday night and charged with armed robbery, causing danger with a firearm, fraud and two counts of aggravated break and enters in company.

He fronted court on Wednesday and was refused bail.

The 21-year-old "victim" was arrested in Coffs Harbour today and is expected to be charged later this afternoon.
