Two staffies attack 13-year-old Yamba boy walking dog

A THIRTEEN-year-old Yamba boy was attacked by two Staffordshire Bull Terriers while trying to save his own dog.

Jacob Renelt was walking his schnauzer Bree by the lake at Witonga Dv yesterday afternoon when two dogs came bounding toward them and attacked the family pet.

"She was on the lead and Jacob tried to pull them off but they turned on him and punctured his hand," Jacob's dad Roy said.

"There was blood everywhere."

The dogs backed off and the police and ambulance arrived at the scene.

Mr Renelt managed to lock the dogs in his garage and the police tracked down the owner.

The family has yet to hear what has happened to the dogs but Jacob has to visit the doctors today for his injuries.

Bree visited the vet but is not suffering from injuries.

The Daily Examiner is waiting for comment from the police.
