Two-storey building collapses, killing one

A MAN was killed and another injured after a building collapsed at a construction site in Caulfield South on Thursday.

WorkSafe Victoria confirmed, in a statement, a 20-year-old man had died when the two-storey building collapsed.

Paramedics and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade freed the other man from the rubble and he was taken to hospital with arm and leg injuries.

WorkSafe investigators were on site and a investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident were under way.

It was the 11th workplace death in Victoria this year and the 107th nationwide.
