U16 night cricket final expected to go down to wire
UNDER 16 NIGHT CRICKET: The last time Coutts Crossing and South Services met in the Under 16s night cricket competition the match went down to the very last ball of a super over.
At the end of 30 overs each of regulation play not a hair could split the two sides.
So it is fitting that the two junior sides will meet again at 6pm tonight in the Under 16s night cricket final and if the last match is anything to go by this final will go down to the wire.
Clarence River Junior Cricket Association president Andrew Cahill praised the night cricket competition and said he was looking forward to an exciting final.
"I haven't heard any negative comments about the competition," he said. "Everyone I have spoken to are thoroughly excited to play in this final and so they should be.
"They have been the two form teams of the competition so it should be a cracking final."
Cahill said comment from the senior cricket association was also very positive as they are major sponsors of the night cricket competition.
Cahill suggested a night out to watch the night cricket final would be a good atmosphere for families.
"Absolutely, as many people as possible should be getting out to the game," he said. "It should be a good game to watch especially with these sides."
The canteen will be running all night with the first ball expected to be bowled at 6pm.
