Man saved after pulled unconscious from rip
A TOURIST'S life has been saved after he was pulled unconscious from the surf at Woolgoolga Beach.
The man was found floating by rescuers in the surf after a bad rip caused him to fall of his float at Woolgoolga Beach yesterday afternoon.
Two Korean tourists were sailing a float around the southern side of the beach when the rip took them out to the east, according to Marine Rescue Woolgoolga.
A pair of surfers witnessed one of the men fall into the surf and brought him to the shore around 3.15pm.
Marine Rescue volunteer, Mitch Harvey, came to the aid of the man and placed him in the recovery position to resuscitate him.
The man then spewed up water three to four times and was attached to an oxygen tank until the ambulance arrived.
The NSW Ambulance Media unit said paramedics treated the man on the scene.
