Urquhart to play for Black Knight

YAMBA squash star Donna Urquhart has signed a two-year deal with ambitious racquet manufacturer Black Knight.

Urquhart joins Australian squash great David Palmer as high-profile ambassadors for the Canadian company that is making massive inroads into the Australian and international squash markets.

The signing of Urquhart is the latest step in the company’s plan to further boost its Australian market share.

Urquhart, currently ranked 16th in the world, had a superb 2010, winning a bronze medal at the Delhi Commonwealth Games and was part of the Australian team that won the Women’s World Teams Championship in New Zealand in December.

She also claimed her fifth career title on the professional tour, taking out the Buler Challenge Cup in Hong Kong in September.

Urquhart said she was excited to have joined Black Knight.

“I talked to David about Black Knight some time ago and he was full of praise for the company and the support it gives him,” she said.

“So when they approached me about joining them I jumped at the chance.

“I love the racquets ... the way they feel and the way they look ... and believe they can help take me to the next step.

“It’s going to be an exciting time over the next three years.”
