WATCH: Spear fishermen take down monster marlin

IT WAS two Sunshine Coast lads, their spear guns and endless expanses of pristine blue ocean.

Enter then marlin.

Billy Kneale and Jack Tait were taking the hunt to the ocean off Dee Why, NSW, on Sunday when they managed to spear, and amazingly bring in, a 40kg marlin.

It took some tense words, teamwork and plenty of muscle for the pair to land the monster marlin that leapt into the air to escape capture.

The pair was understandably excited about the catch, and, bafflingly, they took a skinny dip with the fish to celebrate.
