We have Gorillas in our midst

THE Gorillas Tug Of War Club has proved again that Grafton has some of the strongest men in the country.

The club competed recently at the NSW Police Games in Sydney, with competitors from police, fire, ambulance, corrective services, and SES. The club performed with outstanding results in the Catch Weight and Light Weight competitions, securing the gold medal in both divisions against the best that the New South Wales emergency services had to offer.

The Gorillas are outstanding representatives of the Clarence Valley, having won gold medals in the New South Wales Police Games, and the Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games.

Club president Scott Ensbey said he was very proud of the Gorillas’ efforts in Sydney, and thanked the Redman Rugby Club for its assistance in training leading up to the games.

He also thanked the club’s sponsors Douse Fire, Bent Street Car Mart, Red Hot Hair, and Clarence Earthmoving and Quarry Supplies.

The Gorillas are looking at competing at the AP&ES Games in Wellington, New Zealand, next year, and are inviting all local sports clubs and community groups to see if they can match it against possibly the strongest men in the Valley.

If you are interested in including the Gorillas in your training regime or wish to inquire about joining the squad contact Scott on 0448 868 205.
