Welcome home Snoopy: Brothers reunited with best friend

LACHLAN and Vincent O'Brien have worried for weeks about whether their dog Snoopy was being fed and well looked after when he ran away from them in Iluka weeks ago.

But thanks to a picture in The Daily Examiner and a dog lover from Woombah, they've been reunited with their best little mate.

And now that he's home, Snoopy has barely stopped licking them in happiness.

"They're so happy for him to be back, and Snoopy has just been so excited," grandmother Jennifer O'Brien said. "He hasn't stopped for days."

The dog got away from the pair during a bath and disappeared in July, but when a Woombah lady saw his picture in The Daily Examiner, she recognised the dog in her neighbour's yard.

"The man found the dog down near the fish co-op in Iluka running in and out of traffic, nearly getting hit," Ms O'Brien said.

"He's a dog lover, and took the dog back to his house in Woombah to look after him.

"When he found out the dog had an owner, he was really happy the owner had been found. We're really appreciative of everything he did for Snoopy."
