Essex madness as Harwood roll Tucabia for 65
NATHAN Essex has made a devastating return for Harwood in the side's first showing of the 2015/16 GDSC Premier League season.
After two seasons playing little more than part-time for Tucabia-Copmanhurst, Essex has rejoined Harwood and on Saturday indicated he is ready for a huge season for the defending premiers.
Essex took 5 for 8 off 13 overs as the GDSC Easts top order had no answers to the right arm opening bowler.
With former Brothers star Brad Robertson making a surprise appearance, Easts tried to show caution and stem the flow of wickets, but after 35.1 overs were all out for just 65.
On an even more ominous note, Harwood closed the day on 4 for 241 off just 40 overs in reply and an outright victory appears a mere formality next week.
The highlight was Mark Ensbey's innings. However, he was run out just four runs shy of his century.
Ben McMahon finished not out on 83 and it remains to be seen whether captain Nathan Ensbey will give McMahon the chance to register a first up ton or call a declaration.
