The race that stops the planet and other Day 9 Olympic events

The world will stop to watch the Rio Olympics at 11.25am (AEST) on Monday.

Can Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt start his Rio campaign with a gold medal? Bolt, who turns 30 on Sunday, will attempt to achieve a triple-triple after he won three gold medals (100m, 200m, 4x100m) in Beijing 2008 and then defended those titles in London 2012.

American Justin Gatlin, Canadian Andre De Grasse, Bolt's compatriot Yohan Blake and Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut will be the world's fastest man's greatest threats of Olympic history.
