What’s wrong with this condom wrapper?

SOCIAL media users are going crazy over a seriously confusing condom wrapper.

A user on Reddit shared a photo of the slogan-covered contraception after being handed some by a group of safe-sex campaigners on their college campus.

The condoms are emblazoned with the words "Go further without consent" - preceded by a random doughnut cartoon.

Needless to say, the snap puzzled many social media users.

One user wrote: "What. What is it trying to say? I know what it says, 'Rape!' But what did they think it said?"

Another added: "I actually read that as 'go further without consent' wtf."

But it turns out the slogan isn't as controversial as it first appears.

The doughnut actually stands for "do not," making the true meaning "Do not go further without consent."

The condoms are for sale from customised condom maker Say It With A Condom.

According to an advert, the condoms are approved by the FDA, are "standard-sized", lubricated, and have a shelf life of 4-5 years.

They are currently being sold in the US for $3.99 ($4.98) for one, or $0.47 (59c) each when you buy more than 10,000.

Just a friendly reminder that silence is NOT consent, and consent is MANDATORY! No means no, and silence means no too.

Organisations such as Planned Parenthood have offered statements on the "good message" the condom promotes and the doughnut design is currently out of stock.

Other designs include "Silence is not consent", "consent is asking every time" and "I must ask for consent".
