A HAT-TRICK from David Williams has helped the Melbourne Heart continue its remarkable revival under interim coach John van't Schip with a 5-0 thrashing of the Phoenix in Wellington.
The Heart still sits bottom of the A-League but is now only seven points off sixth place and a playoff spot after winning its fourth game in five outings.
Under van't Schip, the Heart is unbeaten since January 10 and the win was all the more remarkable as Wellington was one of the A-League's form teams.
Williams (pictured) was in inspirational form with three fantastic strikes, with the Heart's other goals coming from Dutch duo Orlando Engelaar and Robbie Wielaert, which weren't too shabby either.
It was also Melbourne's first away win since December 2011 and sets the side up perfectly for the visit of league leader Brisbane Roar to AAMI Park next Sunday.
Engelaar opened the scoring in the ninth minute and Williams scored his first 10 minutes later.
