A LATE afternoon hail storm turned parts of the Clarence Valley into an icy, winter wonderland.

Parts of the Valley were left resembling snow fields after the storm, which swept over the region about 4pm yesterday.

Weather Zone said 7.2mm of rain fell on Grafton.

Isolated storms are expected today near the coast, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Grafton will be partly cloudy with areas of fog this morning.
