BUCKING BEAUTY: Kids can ride the Mad Cow too.

Mad Cow one of the Jacaranda Festival's biggest hits

WITH half a million rides under her belt, the Mad Cow is one bucking beauty with experience on her side.

Often fooled by her cheeky grin and crazy eyes, only a very few cowboys and girls have managed to ride the qualifying time and be entered on the wall of fame.

She may be cute, she may be mechanical, but the Mad Cow has proven to buck almost as hard as the big fellas in the rodeo ring - and also soft enough to cater for the kids. And she's headed to Grafton for the Jacaranda Festival.

More 4 Men owner Tim Ellem took the idea to the Jaca Committee meeting and it was decided the Mad Cow would make a trip from Newcastle to give festival-goers the full country experience.

The Mad Cow will be set up in Prince St on Jaca Thursday, outside More 4 Men.

At 1pm on the day, there will be a celebrity ride where local politicians and well-known faces will battle for the Mad Cow championship.

"We are also seeking sponsorship for the event, so for just $100 you get to be advertised on 103.1FM (which will broadcast live from the event) and leading up to the event, plus you get to nominate a person to ride in the celebrity ride," Mr Ellem said.

They are also seeking a major sponsor who will receive naming rights to the event.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, phone the jacaranda office on 6642 3959.

If you're not to keen on riding the Mad Cow, perhaps the gladiator ring is more your style?

For just $6 a pair, knock your opponent off their podium using a padded stick - much like on the television show Gladiators in the Gladiator Joust.
