Woman, 25, assaulted on Gold Coast

Police are investigating the assault of a 25-year-old woman at Broadbeach Waters this morning.

Around 8am police received reports of a woman being assaulted by a man during a disturbance in Ensenada Court. The man is believed to be known to her.

The woman sustained facial injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Investigations are continuing.

Earlier: POLICE have scrambled to an address on the Gold Coast after reports a woman was abducted.

Channel 9 reported that police have converged at Broadbeach Waters.



Fairfax reported shots had been fired in the street about 8am in Ensenada Court.

There has been no official statement from police at this stage.

A video posted by Channel 7 on Twitter shows uniformed officers at the scene.

Seven reported at 9.15am that the woman at the centre of emergency situation has been returned to the scene.

Police investigations are continuing.
