Woman struck twice in domestic hit and run

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after she was struck twice by a car in a bizarre hit and run following a domestic incident in Sydney.

Just after midnight Police and paramedics were called to John Street, Waterloo where they found a 49-year-old woman with fractures and facial injuries.

She was taken to St Vincents Hospital in a stable condition.

Initial investigations suggest the woman was standing in the middle of the road when she was hit twice by the driver of a green Holden Commodore sedan, who then left the scene.

Police believe the woman and the female driver of the Holden are known to each other.

Officers from Redfern Local Area Command are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
