Tributes flow for woman killed in 'tragic accident'

UPDATE 10.30AM: An outpouring of grief is flooding social media in tribute to a Lockyer Valley woman who died in what has been described as a tragic accident.

Juliette Bevan, 52, died after she was struck in the head by a horse she was treating at her Lefthand Branch property yesterday afternoon.

The horse is believed to have kicked out, critically injuring Mrs Bevan.

Paramedics were called to the property just after 1pm yesterday with reports she was unconscious.

She was unable to be revived.

Gatton police described the incident as a tragic accident, and confirmed the death was not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

MONDAY 6PM: A WOMAN, 52, was killed after she was kicked by a horse at a private property in the Lockyer Valley.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics were called to the Left Hand Branch Rd property at 1.10pm at Lefthand Branch with reports the woman had been kicked in the head.

The woman is believed to have been unconscious when the incident was reported but was unable to be revived.

EARLIER: Paramedics are racing to treat a woman believed to have been kicked by a horse on a property south-east of Toowoomba.

Emergency services are en route to treat the woman, believed to be aged in her 50s, at the Left Hand Branch Rd property at Lefthand Branch.

The woman is understood to be in a serious condition following the incident reported to authorities about 1.10pm.
