Woman who did not know she was pregnant gives birth

A BRISBANE woman who did not know she was pregnant has given birth to a baby girl at 37 weeks.

The woman is residing in the UK and had the baby on May 1 after being rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis, Quest Newspapers has reported.

But the former Fairfield resident did not realise she was pregnant until she was in labour.

The 25-year-old, who has been living in the UK since 2012, said she woke up in the morning feeling "a little bit off", but decided to go to work.

But she felt worse and was rushed to hospital where she was examined and told she needed to start pushing.

"They started telling me to push, and I said 'push what? What are you talking about?'

"I was quite shocked and very scared because I didn't know what was going on."
